Any surrendered newborn must be delivered directly to a professional staff member at an approved location for the safe and legal utilization of the Mississippi Safe Haven law. Never leave a child unattended at a facility, which still counts as abandonment. Direct delivery to personnel is the only legal protection Safe Haven covers, except for the Long Beach Baby Box at the fire station on Klondyke Road. Call or Text the 24/7 national crisis hotline at 1-888-510-2229 (hotline provided through the National Safe Haven Alliance).
